Hajnalka Virág is deeply influenced by the video games of the '70s and '80s - including the image glitches of those early monitors - and this pixel world is reflected in her sculptures and installations as well. She finds glass to be the most suitable material for bringing her ideas to life, as it allows both optical effects and the play of light to be expressed simultaneously. To this end, she has developed a unique, signature glass technique centred on pixel-based construction using float glass stripes, which results in the moiré and lenticular effects characteristic of her works.
At her latest exhibition, visitors will feel as if they have been transported into a video game world.
