A Kozma Lajos építész, iparművész és grafikus, műegyetemi tanár tiszteletére létrehozott kézműves iparművészeti ösztöndíjat 1987-ban alapította a Művelődési és Közoktatási Minisztérium, azzal a céllal, hogy segítse a 35 év alatti önálló művészi tevékenységet folytató, tehetséges kézműves-iparművészek pályakezdését, alkotómunkáját, művészi fejlődését, és kedvező feltételeket teremtsen a formanyelvében és tartalmában korszerű, színvonalas művek létrehozásához. Így lehetőségük nyílik arra, hogy elsősorban alkotómunkával foglalkozhassanak. Minden évben beszámoló kiállításon mutatják be az ösztöndíj ideje alatt készült alkotásaikat.

Az ösztöndíjra pályázhat minden olyan fiatal kézműves-iparművész, aki már önálló művészi tevékenységet tud felmutatni.

A FISE állásfoglalása a Design Terminál jogutód nélküli megszüntetésével kapcsolatban

A FISE ezúton fejezi ki egyet nem értését a Design Terminál jogutód nélküli megszüntetésével kapcsolatban. A tervezett intézkedést a magyar kortárs kultúra szempontjából károsnak tartja, az ezáltal okozott oktatási, gazdasági kárt nagyon jelentősnek ítéli meg. A magyar kulturális intézményrendszer indokolatlan leépítésének újabb és újabb áldozatai nemcsak a magyar kortárs kultúra számára járnak ártalmas következményekkel, hanem Magyarország nemzetközi gazdasági és szakmai kapcsolatai számára is károsak.

A Design Terminál működését nem megszüntetni, hanem fejleszteni lenne érdemes. Elődje, az évtizedeken át sikeresen működő Design Center a magyar design hazai és nemzetközi kapcsolatrendszerében jelentős szerepet töltött be, amelyet az átalakulás után is megtartottak. Az „Európai Vállalkozások Ösztönzéséért” díj, illetve az UNESCO által Budapestnek megítélt „Design Városa” cím csak kettő a rangos elismerések között.

Minden kitüntetésnél fontosabb azonban a kreatív művészet, alkotó-tevékenység, képzés és intézményrendszer hatása a gazdaságra - amit fejleszteni, szélesíteni szükséges, nem elsorvasztani. Szerte a világon a design a gazdaság motorja. Magyarország bővelkedik alkotó elmékben, a design elismert szakemberei között nagyon sok a magyar tervező. Ők a szakmát itthon tanulták meg magas szinten, a hazai intézményrendszer segítségével váltak nemzetközi rangú alkotókká. Munkásságuk nagyon fontos gazdasági és kapcsolati tőkét jelent hazánknak. A kortárs kultúra színvonalától függ nemzeti értékeink további gyarapodása, mint ahogy a nemzeti vagyont is leginkább a gondolkodó, alkotó elmék, szakmai közösségek és intézmények biztosítják.

A FISE határozottan kijelenti, hogy a magyar kulturális intézményrendszer nélkülözhetetlen része kell, hogy legyen a design fejlesztését, támogatását, szervezését és prezentációját magas szakmai színvonalon művelni képes szervezet. A Design Terminál megszüntetését elhibázott és káros döntésnek tartja, ehelyett az intézmény támogatását, bővítését, szakmai erősítését tartja kívánatosnak és sürgetőnek.

Az idén nyolcadik alkalommal megrendezésre kerülő Fresh Fishes kiállítás ismét egy színes, fiatalos és lendületes tártattal várja kedves látogatóit.
A 2015-ban felvett új tagok bemutatkozó kiállításán szinte minden, a FISE által képviselt iparművészeti ággal találkozhatunk: textil, kerámia, porcelán, grafika, valamint fémműves alkotások egyaránt megtalálhatóak lesznek. Az igazán újszerű műveken keresztül megismerhető a fiatal művészgeneráció friss látásmódja.

A few words about the Association:
The independent professional organization FISE has been supporting the careers of applied artists for 44 years: by providing exhibition opportunities, continuous information, and advocacy.
The membership is divided into 10 departments according to professions, and the association is managed by an elected management. FISE operates an office, 4 studios, and a gallery in the heart of Budapest, next to the Mátranováki Creative House, on Kálmán Imre Street. Here we organize exhibitions every three weeks, where members can introduce themselves to the professional and wider public. We occasionally accept foreign invitations and organize study tours. We help our members achieve their artistic goals, so there are more and more people who started out as FISE members and have now become internationally recognized creators of Hungarian culture and art.

Texture & Form - Exhibition by textile artist Berta Ujváry and ceramic artist József Kovács

In the exhibition Texture & Form, the artist duo explores the meeting points of textiles and ceramics: the soft, tactile world of handmade rugs and cushions enters into a dialogue with the forms of 3D printed ceramic objects. In their works, traditional use of materials and digital object creation are connected. The exhibited objects simultaneously carry gestures of functionality and experimentation.

Matter is the manifestation of all our thoughts (our consciousness), and form is the symbol of the feelings imbued within it.
What messages lie hidden in the depths of fairy-tale worlds? How does this relate to the forms hidden within matter?
All matter carries information. But what is it that creates it?

The exhibition by visual artist Márton Závorszky-Simon and fashion designer Judit Simon focuses on questions of self-awareness, which they seek to answer through their artistic practices with the help of archetypes.
Judit Simon's clothes are inspired by goddesses endowed with ancient personality traits from Greek and Roman mythology, while Závorszky dissects himself in his visual artworks, depicting male archetypes – both artists use plant dyeing and ecoprint techniques to achieve this.

Double Morphology - Exhibition by applied artist Yu Horváth and visual artist Péter Lendvai

An exhibition titled Double Morphology will open in the gallery of the Young Artists Studio Association, where Péter Lendvai's glass sculptures and Krisztin Yu's illustrations meet in a common, fairy-tale world.

Strange characters and imaginary creatures appear in the works of both artists: the figures taking shape in the glass and the figures coming to life in the drawings reflect on each other and create a playful, story-filled universe. Double Morphology is a dialogue between two different creative languages – where the same fantasy becomes visible in different materials and forms.

18th FRESH FISHES
This year, the season starts again with the debut group exhibition of the newly admitted members in the FISE Gallery. The artists who were admitted during last year's admission process will present themselves to the association's community and the wider public at their first joint exhibition.
The compilation in this case is exciting, as the works of artists from many fields and in many different situations are placed side by side, forming a collaboration open to new dialogue in the gallery space.
