The motto of the 11th Contemporary Jewelry Week Budapest is not by chance Continuity. Twelve years ago, the founders launched the event, then known as the Night of Jewelry, which has grown into a series of events spanning an entire week. The new organizing team wants to continue this legacy, while enriching it with their own ideas and initiatives.
For them, continuity means not only preserving the values of the past, but also showing the present and creating opportunities for the future. An important part of this are the young artists who are still learning the tricks of goldsmithing and object design, experimenting, searching for their own voice, and step by step finding their place in the world of contemporary jewelry.
The exhibition offers an insight into the goldsmithing and object design training courses offered in Hungarian educational institutions through the work of more than 80 students. The works created for different tasks show a variety of approaches, ways of thinking, and individual perspectives – simultaneously providing a picture of the present and the possibilities of the next generation of artists.
