The Studio of Young Designers Association, which will celebrate its 45th anniversary next year, has among its members emerging talents and artists recognized both domestically and internationally, and has more than 350 active artist members The group exhibition and program series of the Studio of Young Designers Association presents the results, processes and future aspirations of contemporary applied art. The event carries three layers of meaning: on the one hand, it draws a professional balance in terms of creative work and achieved successes, on the other hand, it presents the relationship between product design and artistic aspirations, and last but not least, it introduces the visitor to the past traditions of the “design profession”, its present challenges and its future opportunities through creative art. The presented works provide a comprehensive picture of contemporary Hungarian applied art, from interior design to design, ceramics, textiles, goldsmithing and glass to visual communication.
The upper exhibition space features a selection of works by more than a hundred designers and industrial artists, while the basement gallery of Vigadó will host a joint exhibition of Czech and Hungarian students, interactive workshops, craft classes and roundtable discussions after October 1st. The event offers a valuable meeting point for both the profession and the general public.
