"Ice cream while traveling?"
Dóra Knetik graduated as a ceramic and porcelain designer in 2013 at the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts. His dissertation is the 'Ice Cream in Space' porcelain ice cream set, which has been featured in several group exhibitions, such as the Museum of Applied Arts, Hall of Art, Milan Design Week. Now, thanks to the Studio of Young Designer Association, it will be presented for the first time in a solo exhibition, a little differently than before. She decorated the set with stickers, giving it a new look that marks the beginning of a next era. There are many techniques for decorating porcelain, for Dora this is just the first step to develop her skills in other forms in the future. Furthermore, the exhibition presents the works made for 'Lajos Kozma Scholarship for Applied Arts and Crafts', which was also inspired by the ice cream theme, precisely the wafer funnels. Using 3D printing, she created her core shapes and transformed them into porcelain. 3D design was an unfamiliar field to her, but she accomplished the challenge to the best of her knowledge. The effect of colored ice cream dumplings is reflected in the fact that she prefers to color the porcelain mass. She likes to see how the character and the mood of the shape changes, when she changes the colors. She is currently working on a new path, a new project, as a scholar, where she is expanding her professional and personal boundaries.
